Mostly clear, calm, and cool tonight, chance of strong storms tomorrow
Clouds are moving out of the area from west to east, which will give way to a mostly clear and cool night. The mostly calm conditions will change as active weather moves into Metro Detroit tomorrow.
TONIGHT:
It will be mostly clear to partly cloudy as temperatures tumble to the upper 40s in Detroit, mid 40s in Ann Arbor, and lower 40s in Lapeer and Port Huron. Winds will be out of the northeast around 5 mph.
TOMORROW (TUESDAY):
Most of Southeast Michigan is under a low risk of strong to severe storms Tuesday. While showers are likely in the afternoon, the better chances of strong thunderstorms will be during the evening (with a window from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.). That chance will increase over southern portions of Southeast Michigan, particularly south of I-96. Threats include strong winds, large hail, flooding, and an isolated tornado with storm motion to the northeast.
Highs will be around 70 degrees. Non-thunderstorm winds will be out of the east-northeast at 5 to 10 mph.
TOMORROW NIGHT:
The chance of showers will linger into the overnight hours. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy with lows in the mid 50s.
WEDNESDAY:
It will be dry, partly cloudy, and warmer with help from a low-pressure system. Highs will be in the upper 70s. Clouds will increase at night as temperatures fall to the mid 50s.
