Officer hospitalized after being struck by vehicle during foot pursuit in Detroit

Officer suffered non-life-threatning injuries

DETROIT – An officer is hospitalized after he was hit by a car during a foot chase in Detroit.

The incident occurred on Wednesday (May 15) at 5:53 p.m. during an investigation of a stolen vehicle located at a motel on West McNichols Road and Grand River Avenue.

During the investigation, one man ran from the motel, causing the officer to give chase before he was hit by a vehicle that was not involved in the investigation.

Officials say the officer was taken to a Metro Detroit hospital with a non-life-threatening injury to his arm.

The man who was being investigated for the stolen vehicle was eventually arrested.
