DETROIT – A new poll shows President Joe Biden in big trouble with Michigan voters, even with the state GOP in deep turmoil.

And at long last, Ford Field gets set to host a playoff game. The Detroit Lions are prepared to host the Rams tonight.

After winning their first-ever NFC North Championship, the Detroit Lions will host their first home playoff game since 1991 -- and their first ever in Ford Field.

Because that wasn’t enough drama, the football gods delivered a matchup that means quarterbacks Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford are taking on their former teams.

A little later on, we’ll set the stage for the big night with Mike O’Hara, who’s been writing about the Lions for decades, and Lions great Eddie Murray, who was the kicker on that ‘91 team.

It’s been quite a week in politics. With the Iowa Caucuses set for Monday night, we are now in the primary season. This past week, a Local 4 / Detroit News poll showed us a number of things.

First, a Biden-Trump matchup remains something very few voters want. But if it happens, Joe Biden has big problems in this state that is critical to his reelection hopes. Meanwhile, the state’s Republican party is split into two factions that can’t agree on who’s in charge -- which may mean that no one is actually in charge.

Does it matter at the top of the ticket? Does it matter in the down-ballot races? We’ll talk about all that on Flashpoint.
